Here are some tips on how to best iron your trousers .
The fabric
First of all, you need to know the fabric they are made of; this information is usually found on the inside label of the garment. Along with the composition, there is also an indication of the settings that will go on the iron: for example, wool requires lower temperatures, while cotton can be ironed at higher ones.
The latest irons make it easier to choose the settings because the knob shows the name of the material: just turn it until you find the correct one and the most suitable temperature will automatically be selected.
If you don't know the fabric the garment is made of, it is recommended to start with the lowest temperature.
Then add water to the small tank of the iron to create the steam that you will need during the ironing phase.
Wait for the iron to reach the right temperature, then take the trousers.
Ironing trousers with and without creases
You can iron your pants on a classic ironing board or on a horizontal surface. If you are traveling, for example, you can hang them on the bed or on a table.
First put one leg and then the other on the board, from the waist area. Start ironing from the top, starting from the crotch, paying close attention to the pockets, so remember to insist on the waist. Always keep the fabric taut with your free hand .
Then move on to the front, ironing the zip or trousers area. At this point we recommend removing the front pockets and ironing them vigorously: otherwise there is the risk that they remain raised, with annoying creases, leading to a sloppy visual effect.
Now stretch the leg along the entire surface, first one then the other, and try to pass the iron from the inside towards the outside, covering the entire length.
This last step is valid for trousers that do not require a particular crease.
In the case of elegant trousers with a front pleat , lay out the leg of the trousers overlapping the seams that go from the crotch to the hem. Press the iron first on the upper part, then on the lower part, and then finish the entire leg.
Then wait for the fabric to cool down and fold the trousers , placing them in a drawer or on a hanger.
